Last month our wedding photography took us to The Gherkin in the City of London. Jenny and Andy’s wedding ceremony took place on the 39th floor of the Gherkin, which meant some spectacular 360 degree views of London for the guests – and of course, some great photographic opportunities. The reception and dancing is up a level under the glass dome – and the lights really do lend themselves to a magical atmosphere. We are looking forward to seeing the couple again soon for the viewing of the whole set of photographs.

Botleys Mansion Wedding Photography – Vanessa and Omar
Last month we were delighted to be the wedding photographers for Vanessa and Omar’s big day at Botleys Mansion in Surrey. The venue is a splendid 18th century Palladian mansion set in lovely Surrey countryside. Omar met Vanessa in her home country, Brazil – and their legal marriage took place earlier in the year in London. Botleys was hosting the ceremonial aspects of their wedding - led by an Imam. The couple had a fantastic day in bright autumnal sunshine – and we are certainly looking forward to undertaking more wedding photography at Botleys Mansion in the near future.

Lillibrooke Manor Wedding Photography – Vicky and Jason
After bridal preps at Danesfield House, Vicky and Jason enjoyed the salubrious, rural setting of Lillibrooke Manor in Berkshire for their wedding day. Like many weddings this season, we dodging the showers, but the clouds did add atmosphere to the photography. The couple had a wonderful day, and we are looking forward to presenting them with their album later this month.

Wedding Photography at Clandon Park, Surrey
We often get asked by wedding suppliers to post blogs about good venues that we have photographed. So this is the first in the series. The idea is not to publish images of different parts of the venue, but to offer a flavour of the photography we do at the venue, alongside a little background information.
Gary often gets commissioned for wedding photography at Clandon Park, and in fact earned the 2010 Mari Acerboni Creative Wedding (London and Home Counties) Award for his portfolio of images taken there during an autumnal wedding. Whilst the nature of the stately home itself naturally leads, in some part, to a classical style of wedding photography, a big attraction of the venue is that it still encourages creative and artistic imagery (in the right hands!).
Couples who have decided to hold their wedding in the Surrey countyryside, and who consider wedding photography to be a key element of the day, should look very closely at Clandon Park. The Mansion House, which was designed by the Venetian architect Giacomo Leoni, lends itself to some dramatic wedding photography. After extensive restoration, it is now owned by the National Trust.
Wedding ceremonies at Clandon Park are held in the magnificent Tapestry room; and whilst the tapestries prevent the use of flash, the soft light allowed by the windows behind the registrars allows for some wonderful low-light photography. The grand Marble Hall usually hosts the reception; whilst the vaulted undercroft provides the setting for the wedding breakfast. Away from the House itself, Clandon Park offers some surrounding stunning gardens for both couple and group photographs.

Gary wins Mario Acerboni 3rd year running!
It was very exciting to hear that Gary has won the 2011 Mario Acerboni Creative Wedding Photographer of the Year Award (South East) for the third year in a row! The Award – sponsored by Mario Acerboni in association with the MPA and BIPP – is judged on a small porfolio of images from a single wedding (before, during and after the main ceremony). This year Gary’s images were taken from Juliette and Henk’s wedding at Loseley Park in Surrey last March.

London Wedding Photography – One Great George Street
One Great George Street in central London is an elegant, and in many ways, spectacular, venue (and almost paradise for creative wedding photographers!); so we had great pleasure in photographing Shareen and Tim’s wedding there in late July. Despite Shareen arriving 40 minutes late (not her fault!), the couple had a fantastic day. It was great to see everyone entertained by the singing waiters in action again.
Wedding Photography at Heatherden Hall, Pinewood Studios
In April 2010 I had the pleasure of photographing Emma Beadle’s wedding at Stanwell Vicarage, so I was delighted to receive the invitation to photograph her sister Claire’s wedding to Wayne at the same church. The reception for Claire and Wayne’s wedding was at Heatherden Hall at Pinewood studio, which offered a plethora of photographic opportunities. Looking forward to seeing them again after their honeymoon.

Loseley Park Wedding Photography
We were back at Loseley Park in July for Nevin and Richard’s wedding. Having just arrived back from a family ceremony in Turkey, this day represented part two of their wedding. Nevin’s strong Turkish contingent added to the nice lively atmosphere – and they must have been impressed by the grandeur of the Loseley Park (and indeed the hot sun!). Looking forward to returning to Loseley Park for more wedding photography soon!

Wedding Photography at Coltsford Mill, Surrey.
Just like the previous wedding at Coltsford Mill last month, it was case of making the most of the opportunities between the showers and dark clouds. Wedding photography is always a pleasure at Coltsford Mill if you can avoid the rain! Jo and Matt had a lovely relaxed day, and we are looking forward to seeing them for their image viewing when they return from honeymoon.
